He won’t. The quote was that his agent asked him before the season, what would he do if he hit .300 and 20 HRs? His answer was, “I am going to. And, I am still retiring.”

Gotta love a guy who calls a good season, backs it up, and then still retires. He has enough other things going on, including his own hunting show, that he doesn’t need to come back to have something to do.

As far as i could tell it seemed well done by the mets. I do not know but it only takes a few bad apples to spoil a ceremony and considering chippers love hate relationship with mets fans i think it showed both concern for chipper and the mets organization to handle it in a more controlled area. Btw i love the painting, what are the odds it gets willed to Shea one day?

For those who don’t know, Charles Fazzino is a famous artist who does a lot of New York City and sports related artwork. Even if you’re not an art enthusiast, you have to admit his artwork as a whole is pretty cool and unique. To receive a one-off piece like that is pretty special in my opinion.
