I’m pretty confident that if Bray had come to the Reds any other way than that Kearns/Lopez trade (for which Wayne Krivsky took all sorts of unjustified hell – Cincinnati ended up missing neither of those guys), Reds fans would’ve just shrugged & been grateful for what he was & what the team always said he’d be: a respectable middle reliever when healthy.

metalhead is right though, Bray has not stayed healthy, and the Reds have younger options coming up. They called Cingrani up, who’s their lefty of the future; don’t think he’s pitched yet in the majors, but he is in the plans more than Bray is.

I think Bray is the last remnant of that bizarre Jim Bowden trade which had 8 or 9 players in it.
