Even as a Reds fan, this item feels like a 'slow news day' kinda thing, except for two things: the Reds don't have a great replacement in hand (as noted, Valdez scares us, and Didi Gregorius was in double-A two weeks ago, which means Dusty won't favor him), and the Reds are fighting for home-field advantage in the playoffs. After that 2010 road sweep by the Phils, getting home field advantage is critical for this young club to have a better chance in postseason. Cozart's the guy at the top of the lineup for most of the season, he will need to be back for this team to be its best.

Hope Cozart heals quickly, Valdez is NO Cozart. Picked up a game tonight on the Cards and Pirates, and we want him back totally healed for a run at becoming the champs, but man, is he missed!
