“there are 27 outs that was just one” is it ur propostition then that every out doesnt matter and you can give them away?!? a blown call in the 1st or 9th has a direct result on the outcome of the game most of the time! you cannot give free outs either by errors or blown calls!! my question to you is if that call would have decided game 7 of the ALCS would u argue that the series was not decided on that call?!?

Since the game ended on that clearly blown call you absolutely can say that call cost them the game. It ended the game! Are you dense or just stubborn?

It’s irreverent whether the Yankees would have eventually went ahead or the O’s would have answered back and gone ahead thereby eventually winning. The game was still in progress so there had yet to be a defining event until a bad call ended the game, so there can be no further discussion as to what might be. The call ending the game WAS the defining play.

As a Yankee fan I think Girardi isn’t enough of a hot head.

Basically, the pennant races are the only time of year I get fired up to listen to either of them anymore.

It’s way too much fun anticipating that inevitable one dumb caller that sends them over them deep end.

By my logic, Jim Joyce’s call was a singular play that caused a break in the successive 27 outs that Galarraga had recorded. Convincingly, you can say that the call cost him a perfect game but you can’t say that the blown call is the singular reason why the Yankees lost the game. By your “clown” logic, you’re assuming that the Yankees would have definitely won the game had the call been correct.

Either way this is just another blatant case for replay no matter which team we back. The games are only going to continue to mean more and the current system they have in place for the playoffs is still pathetic. It’s like the World Cup not having goal line technology.

I said it a couple months ago – somebody put together a compilation video of this season’s blown calls and send it to Bud Light. But, please wait until the season is over. I have a feeling the best is yet to come in the playoffs.
