I don't blame him for getting upset at all...The Yankees had just gotten screwed in a big game on a play where Teixeira was clearly CLEARLY safe at first which would have tied the game and now you have some stupid reporter hounding Girardi with the same question three times? What, you think his answer is going to change when you ask it the second, then the third time? If he tells you CC isn't hurt, then I'm gonna take a guess and say that's what he believes and nothing will change his opinion in the two seconds you gave him before asking it again

no edgarallen u idiot I never said they would have def won the game i actually see that i stared that i wasnt sayin that they wouldve won! but they would have had a chance to at least has another batter and half inning...ur argument is terrible!! yes I say that call cost them a run on the last out of a game in which thy lost by one so therefore the direct result of that call, which prevented that run from scoring, was a Yankees loss. if the yanks had been up and lost 7-6 people would still be furious and the ump should still be fined or suspended!!

"there are 27 outs that was just one" is it ur propostition then that every out doesnt matter and you can give them away?!? a blown call in the 1st or 9th has a direct result on the outcome of the game most of the time! you cannot give free outs either by errors or blown calls!! my question to you is if that call would have decided game 7 of the ALCS would u argue that the series was not decided on that call?!?

"But you cannot say that one play is WHY they lost the entire game."

Since the game ended on that clearly blown call you absolutely can say that call cost them the game. It ended the game! Are you dense or just stubborn?

It's irreverent whether the Yankees would have eventually went ahead or the O's would have answered back and gone ahead thereby eventually winning. The game was still in progress so there had yet to be a defining event until a bad call ended the game, so there can be no further discussion as to what might be. The call ending the game WAS the defining play.

That somewhere is Mon-Fri 2-7 PM EDT on SXM. And I can't wait for that either.

Basically, the pennant races are the only time of year I get fired up to listen to either of them anymore.

It's way too much fun anticipating that inevitable one dumb caller that sends them over them deep end.

@bronxbomber you are 100 % missing my whole point. If you want to say singularly that the call cost the Yanks a run, then fine. But you cannot say that one play is WHY they lost the entire game. Again, they went 1 for 9 with RISP. That in of itself is why they were down 2 going into the last inning. They lost because they happened to have less runs then the O's at the time of the bad call. If they were up 6-5 and the call happened in the top of the 9th and the O's won 7-6 in the 9th would this be as big of a deal, probably not.

By my logic, Jim Joyce's call was a singular play that caused a break in the successive 27 outs that Galarraga had recorded. Convincingly, you can say that the call cost him a perfect game but you can't say that the blown call is the singular reason why the Yankees lost the game. By your "clown" logic, you're assuming that the Yankees would have definitely won the game had the call been correct.

And I hate doing this in this type of informal setting, but if you're going to insult me please understand the huge difference between weather and whether

True, maybe half a percent.

Either way this is just another blatant case for replay no matter which team we back. The games are only going to continue to mean more and the current system they have in place for the playoffs is still pathetic. It's like the World Cup not having goal line technology.

@edgarallen you can say oh it's just how the game ended and give all ur
spin but the bottom line is they did lose because of that call...not sayin they would have won but it's 5-5 with arod up the at bat after he just turned a 96 mph fastball around and put it in the bullpens against a clearly ineffective JJ!! that call weather it was made in the first or 9th inning still cost them a run and a game In the standings...I mean have u seen the shot?!? it's not even close!!! I really dont see how u can say they didn't lose because of the call when the direct result of the call was, instead of a tie game in the 9th, a Yankees loss?!?

Hell by ur thinking jim Joyce isnt the reason Galaraga doesn't have a perfect game that's just how that play happend to pan out and he didn't get it because he should have been at the bag sooner of some
dumbass explanation like that...ur a clown if u use that logic!! either way umps should be fined or suspended for calls like maier last night and Jim Joyce because games mean too much to be blatantly sodomizing one squad with the calls they make

When a man is mad its respectful to allow him some time to cool off. I like Girardi showing some emotion it shows that he isn't content with being tied for first which really is the way the Yankees have been playing. I don't see too much emotion from any of them or they are not acting angry. You have to play the game with a little edge. Did you guys see how happy the Os were after the game? I think the Yankees should play with that type of enthusiasm and emotion.

While I agree about the Yankees' sense of entitlement, there's a problem with your post. Just as I get annoyed with people bringing up the Yankees when the subject doesn't involve them (such as the whole Bobby V fiasco), there's no reason to bring up the Red Sox in a thread about the Yankees.

The Sox are done, have been done for some time, and are not relevant to a discussion about the Yankees.

As for the exchange between Girardi and Sherman, I think it would have been great if Girardi's office door had opened and Sherman had been laying there in a bloody heap. Some reporters cross the line with their endless repetition of the same loaded questions.
