Bobby Valentine says he’s the best man for the job

Sep 11, 2012, 6:35 PM EST

Bobby Valentine feels your pain Red Sox fans, having suffered along side you during the team’s struggles, but he says he’s still the best choice to manage the BoSox going forward.

    I agree!!

  2. GoneYickitty - Sep 11, 2012 at 6:44 PM

    Yankees fans agree.

  3. keithbangedyermom - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM

I love BV, but he is certainly not the best guy for that job. What they should do is hire Ryne Sandburg.

  4. proudlycanadian - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:13 PM

Bobby should be allowed to manage the Red Sox in the playoffs in 2012. If they fail to win a playoff game in 2012, then fire him.

    • teaspoon1731 - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:17 PM

      I will agree to this.

  5. randygnyc - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:19 PM

Proudly- Bobby should be allowed to manage the Red sox until he decides he’s doesn’t want to any longer.

    • proudlycanadian - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:21 PM

LOL! Spoken like a true Yankee fan.

  6. tfbuckfutter - Sep 11, 2012 at 7:36 PM

I like to think I’m the best man possible in the field of banging Jessica Biel.

The problem is, that’s just my opinion and there are many people much much more qualified for the job.

I would probably be as disappointing as Bobby Valentine, truth be told.

    • bozosforall - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:02 PM

More like best at whacking your tiny pecker, competing with the rest of the similarly poorly-endowed Red Sox fan base.

      • tfbuckfutter - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:08 PM

It’s always funny to me when someone posts something self-deprecating….and there is ALWAYS some jackass who thinks they can trump it (and it is usually incredibly lame, even if it wasn’t posted on something negative to begin with).

Accept that you can’t one-up that and move on, lest you look even more pathetic.

      • bozosforall - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:22 PM

Besides, there isn’t anything more pathetic than a fan base that claims that their team is a top franchise, despite the fact that said team has only won two measly titles in over 90 years of trying. Heck, the Marlins have done better than that, with even worse turmoil within their organization.

      • bozosforall - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:13 PM

Whatever, crybaby Boston loser. Typical New England holier-than-thou response…I wouldn’t expect anything less from one of you losers.

      • tfbuckfutter - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:46 PM

2 is not “better” than 2.

You should work on your math skills.

      • bozosforall - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:32 AM

It is when you compare 2 in 90+ years with 2 in 20 years. Once again, the joke is on Red Sox fans like you.

      • bozosforall - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:50 PM

Two in a much shorter period of time, moron. Then again, I shouldn’t have expected a Boston idiot to figure that out.

      • cur68 - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:29 AM

I see you’re still a massive doucher bozo. Somethings never change. Go bathe.

      • bozosforall - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:31 AM

Take your own advice, stinky cur.

      • cur68 - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:34 AM

“stinky”? So, you really are 12. Sorry kid, thought you were just a massively immature and stupid adult. My mistake. I’ll get back to you in 10 years. Enjoy the 7th grade. Study hard.

      • bozosforall - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:38 AM

Lame comments…even for a dumb Canuck such as you. You might want to take advantage of the cheap healthcare up there and stock up on the Alzheimer’s medication.

      • cur68 - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:48 AM

Shhh. Its late. Get some sleep, son. You got school and stuff. Heck, if you can get up early enough you might be able to bathe before school tomorrow. Might meet a girl, y’know? Hygiene is your friend. Good night, sweet dreams, and I hope your complexion clears up.

      • bozosforall - Sep 12, 2012 at 12:55 AM

Here you go again with the dinosaur comedy material. Even Henny Youngman wasn’t laughing at that crap when he was a kid.

      • cur68 - Sep 12, 2012 at 1:07 AM

        -sigh-
Well its good to know that you can make the google work. Well my son, what to do? I feel like I’m leading you astray here with this. It was fun when I thought you were a grown, albeit stupid, person. But this kind of banter between myself and an obvious minor is simply not right. Look, I can stay up all night if I want. I have an excellent education, a pretty good job because of it, and mid week days off. You are a growing boy. You need to get some sleep so you can concentrate tomorrow. Trust me, it could happen, right? You might meet a nice girl who’ll teach you how to act and stuff. To do that, bathe. Be awake in school and alert. Study hard. For your own good my boy: pack it in for tonight.

      • bozosforall - Sep 12, 2012 at 1:11 AM

Not only do you post lame comebacks, you repeat them. Do yourself a favor and double the dosage on your Alzheimer’s meds. And go soak your dentures and change your adult diapers.

  7. ravensoriolesnation - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:05 PM

Bobby is joke , I pray he continues to manage the club right into the ground. what a consistent ass.I will be a Camden Yards Sept 26 Saturday game to tell him personally . Remember the Orioles crushed the Soxs playoff run last year, they need to fire him quickly, and start over, or get used to last place.in the east. the only thing the redsox are good for is beating the Yankees nothing else, terrible franchise………:

    • Glenn - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:29 PM

I agree with much of what you said, but terrible franchise? Two World Series Championships in the last eight years compared to exactly what in Baltimore? You’ve been the laughingstock of the AL East for a very long time and are putting together one of the luckiest seasons in recent memory. You are closer to Pittsburg than Boston in the big picture and will bounce back to mediocrity next season.

Enjoy the ride. I am rooting for you.

  8. cur68 - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:13 PM

    Based on what evidence, Bobby?

  9. sjtorpitt - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:39 PM

Ahah Baltimore a better franchise than Boston? Ahah someone didn’t do their research.

    • bozosforall - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:06 PM

Orioles three WS titles in the last 90 years, Red Sox only two. Looks like they are better from where I sit.

  10. Glenn - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

My guess is that this is a contrived response to the accusation and evidence that the Red Sox and Bobby V have given up. After BV reads enough stories about quitting and how he can’t wait to be fired, he probably felt obligated to say something positive.

  11. bigharold - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:46 PM

“…but he says he’s still the best choice to manage the BoSox going forward.”

We here on the bridge of the Death Star appove this message!!

  12. 1943mrmojorisin1971 - Sep 11, 2012 at 8:50 PM

    Nah, I’ll do it.

  13. dirtyharry1971 - Sep 11, 2012 at 9:47 PM

its not bobby’s fault that most of his team got injuried, give the guy a chance

    • proudlycanadian - Sep 11, 2012 at 10:00 PM

Another Yankee fan who wants the Red Sox to keep Bobby.

    • badintent - Sep 12, 2012 at 1:32 AM

Bobby told Jon to man up and pitch tonight, didn’t take him out like the talking heads said he would. Bobby old school, good for him.And that large check from Cashmen is on it’s way. Keep up the good work with those losers.

  14. j0esixpack - Sep 11, 2012 at 10:32 PM

He’s gone after this season – and he should be.

But this one season under a hard-assed coach like Valentine should pay dividends reminding players what happens when you take a player-friendly manager for granted.

In that sense, Bobby V. played his role with the Sox well

  15. dutchman45 - Sep 11, 2012 at 11:09 PM

He is a poor mans Res Ryan. valentine is spiking his Kool Aid!

  16. harleyjack0518 - Dec 19, 2012 at 12:55 PM

Turns out Bobby V was not the best man for the job! There are some angry fans in Boston and Im sure there are some people that would like to knock his teeth out. If that were to happen he would need to get some dentures in hamilton
