Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine told reporters this past weekend that struggling right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka might be dropped from the starting rotation. But it won’t happen just yet.

According to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox announced Tuesday evening that Matsuzaka will make his scheduled start Friday against the Blue Jays despite his recent hiccups.

Dice-K was shelled for five earned runs in less than two innings last Saturday by Toronto and allowed six earned runs without making it past the fourth inning in his start before that against the Athletics.

The 31-year-old impending free agent has a 7.20 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 35 total innings this season.

I’m a Sox fan, but really, can we just run out the clock here? Nobody wants to hear about this team any more. Let us suffer in silence.

Dice K…he just stinks. They should legally change his last name from Matsuzaka to Stinks. Instead of the back of his jersey saying Matsuzaka, it should just say Stinks. Actually, he doesn’t need a first name…his whole name can just be one, like Ichiro. Except we’ll call him Stinks.

Actually, baseballisboring and Matsuzaka are synonyms.

I can’t wait until this over hyped over paid below average pitcher leaves the MLB for good.

Why in Dog’s name? BV says he, Bobby Valentine, is the right man for this job, eh? There is no evidence of that AT ALL and this decision is NOT helping. Yeesh.

Look at this in a positive vein, the Jays need extra BP, and who is better at that than Dice-k?

Lackey. Though with him unavailable, Dice K is the next best option.

    Keep wasting time guys.

It’s not like any rookies maybe could use a turn.

    Just keep wasting time.

Maybe do something really smart and use Podsednik as the DH…..Oh….wait….

Im a die hard red sox fan. i will tell you Bobby V has got to go and the sooner the better. The problem now is who are you going to bring in. The sox have had the fire sale and there is not much left for a new manager to have much hope and sox fans are not the most patient in the world. lackey has been a complete bust and trotting dice k out there is surely not going to help much and you thought grady was bad handling pitchers valentine is the worst. mercifully the end of the season in less than a month away and next year never looked so good.
