David Price skipped his Saturday start against the Rangers because of shoulder soreness, but the Rays left-hander threw a bullpen session today and declared himself ready to take his next turn in the rotation.

That will come Friday against the Yankees, in New York and matched up with CC Sabathia, which is a helluva way to rejoin the rotation.

Prior to the skipped start Price was 17-5 with a 2.54 ERA and 175/54 K/BB ratio in 181 innings this season and he’s on track to make 30-plus starts and log 200-plus innings for the third straight year.

Looking forward to this series. Price has done well vs. Sabathia.

Hammel just got pulled from the Rays-Orioles game. He looked like he was in pain after thowing a pitch to Longoria.
