Frankly, I think a lot will depend on the Jays and if they try to wear him down or are they’re impatient and swing early and get themselves out.

But, his residue effect on the Yankee pitching staff in general is an added benefit. I think he’ll have a settling affect on the rotation and if help the pen too. Garcia is giving it all he’s got, which is commendable, but he’s lucky to get through the 5 inning lately. If Pettitte can demonstrate his representative ability and get them to the 6th or 7th inning that will effectively take a big load off the BP.

Like when A-Rod came back, .. even though he’s just warming up, .. he fortified the line up with merely with his presence. Pettitte is likely to have the same affect on the pitching staff. And, there is the potential for both of these guys, and Nova, getting up to full stride and being well rested just in time for the playoffs What’s not to like about that?

I am more confident in his abilities as an older, experienced player, rather than if he was a younger one. He knows his body. He knows ho ,to pitch and was fairly productive in his latest appearances. And he sure like him way more than either Garcia or phelps. He’s got big game experience and with good results.
