The Phillies were 37-51 in Mid July. They were getting ready to dump stars – and oh, they did. They had their only All Star lose a month, and can only platoon down the stretch. They have played the 2nd half without a 3rd baseman.

And yet here we are…..so to answer your question, I would feel sad that they didn’t make it, but 157.869% better about next year then I did just a month ago.

So, as long as we are in full disclosure, what bridge are you going to jump off if they do make it?

It’s not that bizarre. McCourt did nothing for 5 seasons. New owners picked up contracts for the next 3 seasons. Of course, a Gnat fan has a Gnat mind. No harm in that.

Look at the the Dodgers strength of schedule earlier in the year. This is their toughest stretch of the season.

Since early on the Giants are 14.5 up on the Fodgers. The turds in blue were up 7.5 back in May? or as early as April?

Not caring how it got to being this bad for the blue Fodgers down South. Loving that it has gotten this ugly and bizarre for them. I still love me some A. Gonzonlez, but, well, who better to pay for his decline than the Fodgers. I fear for the future, today is good in Giganos land.

This Giant fan thinks he makes a great Fodger SS. Despite the occasional Giant killings, I think he largely fails and will continue to do more failing for the Fodgers in the future. Good for him, them, and all the NL West.
Am I wrong, or just lazy? Not a great glove + head case/lack of focus + mediocre OBP, + occasional power = great expensive Fodger SS

This is too bad. I don’t know that I expected the Dodgers to play at their season-opening level all year, but this is just pathetic right now.

Oddly enough, they have gotten WORSE without James Loney. How the hell did that happen?

I love the Cards sinking and root for them to exit before the playoffs begin. Would love for the Pirates to wake up and seize this opportunity, as unlikely as that seems at this point. The Dodgers slithering in seems unlikely, too. The BrewCrew and the Phightins seem a stretch just given that they are furthest out, surging or not at the moment.
Thinking match ups, wouldn’t a rolling and as healthy as they can be Phightins be the team you really don’t want to face in a one game elimination, or series? Not rooting for the Phightins to get that far. Don’t really love the surging Phils story line, good for them, but I liked it better when they were the AgedPhlailins fading away into a murky abyss. But if they do get that far, I like their chances playing in against the Bravos better than the others in the non RedBird group.
If the Gigantos do finish out, they most likely face the Nats or Reds and all the wild card play in possibilities don’t matter to them. The story lines of facing Dusty in the post season would be fun. They haven’t played well against the Reds or Nats this year, tis a worry.

I expect it. That said, if they make it to the WC and bounce the Braves, Craig will have to go on an immediate, unplanned vacation to a 3rd world country to avoid all the crap he’s going to get.
