And if you really want to rant on about O’s going nowhere but down from here and Yankees peaked at the right time your foolish. Having injured players coming back and ASSUMING they’ll play up to par is not peaking buddy. It’s called getting healthy. And whether or not the Yankees are healthier (although it’s 100% the Yankees fault the O’s are without our leadoff in Markakis who’s played better offense and defense than any Yankee in that lineup since the AS break) has nothing to do with the O’s success. Yanks thought it was in the bag, blew a 10 game lead and now they are looking at the O’s eye to eye. And what makes it intolerable is moron fans like you who put on blinders and pinstripe glasses thinking “Everyone sucks but us even though we only have 1 WS to show for it in the past 11 years.” I call BS.

You want talk peak? Then I say the Yanks peaked in late 90′s/early 2000′s and have gone downhill from there. No longer the team they used to be. Now they’re a collective group of sloppy seconds to make up for a subpar farm system and over the top contracts that have seen players fall from grace half way through their mega deals (Arod and Tex). And lets look roster spot for spot:

C: Weiters is superior.
1B: I’d take a healthy Reynolds over gimpy Tex.
2B: I’ll concede the O’s need help.
3B: Machoado hands down after a MONTH. ARod JR.
SS: Hardy is younger, quicker, and only lacks in the hits compared to grandpa Jeter
OF: Gold Glovers Adam Jones and Markakis. No question there. Granderson I’ll give you.
SP’s: Yanks advantage onyl because of CC. Hammel, Chen, Gonzo are a better middle pack.
BP: O’s hands down. Top 3 in baseball.
Closer: Johnson’s the best in baseball.
Manager: Buck outduels Girardi. Even Yanks fans will admit.

So where is this Yankee superiority??

That was the general feeling coming back after taking last year off. Yet, he was doing great until a fluke play broke his leg.

He doesn’t have to dominate he needs to pitch well and keep the Yankees in the game which he’ll likely do much better than Garcia.

Good job though in trying to be the turd in the punch bowl for everyone else…typical yankees fan. Don’t ever turn down the arrogance meter.

But by all means, think what you want. Rely on your 60 year old pitcher coming back, oft injured Tex and ARod, and the rest of the group of agining vets with inflated contracts, and assume nobody will ever match the almighty Yanks for the existence of time, and let’s also forget the O’s 3 series wins in NY this year, in which Girardi got outmanaged, and the Yanks were outmatched big time. Times are changing. Get used to it.

Price started 4 games against the Yankees this year and although he’s 2-1, .. the Rays lost the one game he didn’t get the decision. His era was 3.2 but his whip is 1.421. Translation, .. the Yankees have success against him.

Shields is even worse. He’s 2-2 in five starts, with a 6.10 era and a 1.5 whip.

Bottom line is the Yankees aren’t likely to get swept in general and they do very well against Price AND Shields despite the fact that they are pretty good pitchers.

Not just Pettitte, .. Nova who will pitch this series with the Ray and Teixeira. Has that for components baggy digits?

And to that the Yankees have an easier schedule for the remainder of the season and Yankees are still the team to beat in the AL East. And, it’s unlikely they’ll lose another series let alone get swept.

Andy is coming back but can you really count on him when he can’t even have a proper minor league rehab start?

Yeah cause the Yankees have completely collapsed and sweeping them will actually take less effort than it took to type that statement.

A lot of baseball left and the Yankees are getting key components back.

Machado has 114 at-bats, so it’s safe to say he’s gonna lose his rookie status.
