Since his terrible April, Hughes has thrown:

151.2 IP with a 3.74 ERA, 124K/33BB (3.75:1) ratio. Still gives us too many HR, but I’ll take this going forward.

Out of Hughes 19 last starts dating back to June 3rd 14 of them have been quality starts. With the exception of a few games he’s pitched very well during that time and boy do the Yankees need it. His line in this games: 7 1/3 innings, 7 K’s, 1 Walk, 0 Runs and NO HR’s not bad at all even if it was against the Red Sox.

Really nice outing by Hughes. Need consistency now from all pitchers.

Nice game by Hughes. With both Nova and Pettitte back in the rotation, the pitching staff should be much improved. Now the bats need to come alive on a nightly basis.

Hughes was really on tonight, this guy has always been capable of games like this, but for some reason he’s been erratic. The game should have been much more lopsided, but as usual the Yankees leave a lot of runners on base, but a win is a win.

Wow are we on a roll! 2 in a row! Holy crap I never thought I’d see the day the Yankees actually would win 2 in a row again it’s a fricken miracle! I’m going to bed one happy camper tonight.
