Ever since The Trade, I’ve said that next year is the real test for the Dodgers, not this year. Next season, we’ll see if Crawford can prove to be worth anything like his salary. We already know that Gonzalez is (or at least will be) worth a lot and Beckett isn’t.

He has done a really good job when he has to scramble with limited funds. But he has done terrible when he has the green light to spend big money. I really thought that Stan kasten would have more control over this. The dodgers are great today becouse of some solid home grown talent ( other than Andre ) only time will tell if this is good but his track record with veteren signings are absolutely disgusting!

It was pretty obvious from the get go when we learned that the Dodgers were going to take on the money that the Red Sox won the trade. How often does a tanking team get to press the reset button that quickly? The answer is not often but if the Dodgers get to the big dance and win it, then it was a victory for both sides.

With everyone panning the trade with the Red Sox, shouldn’t the title be about everyone in the AL happy Colletti will take their overpaid headcases? Yeah, Colletti has made some pretty bad signings, but it doesn’t help his rep that his pitching staff has tanked, Kemp is MIA, and nobody else is stepping up. The Dodgers won’t have to worry about being bounced out of the playoffs this year as they’ll be watching them on TV just like the rest of us..

Thanks Matthew, could not agree more. Most of these GM’s with money to spend can afford to make the mistakes you mention since they can go out and get someone else. Let’s see if he can get the pitching help the Dodgers need. He was overrated in SF and overrated in LA.
