Very nice story! Reminds me in a way of Joey Moss, also a Down syndrome fellow, who was hired by the Edmonton Oilers back in the ’80s as dressing room attendant at the suggestion of captain Wayne Gretzky, who was dating Joey’s sister. They broke up, Wayne left town, but I think Joey is still working for the Oilers!

Very nice gesture by the Reds. I admire Ted’s parents for the way they did everything possible to help their son succeed despite the pessimistic projections when he was born.

That’s awesome! I love when baseball does things for those a little less fortunate. The reds do an exceptionally good job in this category with their joe nuxhall foundation and reds rookie success league. This is great.
