Chris Carpenter threw a 95-pitch simulated game on Saturday. It went well and now he’s slated to return. The Cardinals announced that he’ll make the start on Friday against the Cubs.

He’ll make two regular season starts if everyone stays on schedule.  And because he was on the DL on September 1, he can be eligible for the playoffs.

He won’t make two starts because he’s going to suffer some major injury during the first start.

    Less Cardinals. More Giants.
