Ike Davis is NOT happy with whoever on the Mets accused him of being out late

Sep 18, 2012, 1:00 PM EDT

Ike Davis

In the earlier Ike Davis story, Adam Rubin cited Mets team officials who said they were concerned with Davis being out too late after games and not taking instruction.  All of this is news to Ike Davis, who does not sound at all happy about what he read this morning:

“I have never missed games or not been ready to work because of anything to do with staying up too late,” Davis told the Daily News Tuesday morning. “I show up every day. I play hard. It is unfair to me, and it doesn’t make sense.”

Good going anonymous Mets person. You either just pissed off a key part of your team going forward or else you undercut the team’s leverage if you really are trying to trade him.

Funny. He didn’t say anything to address the “not taking instruction” part.

As much as the Mets suck, I’m not sure I would be inclined to error on the side of their instruction.

Im willing to bet that Ministry of Truth stooge Rubin is the one behind all of this crap since in his article he doesn’t name anyone who actually said this about Davis.

Ha, love the “1984″ reference, well done.

The original article credits only “a baseball source,” not Mets team officials. So it could be anyone.

JUST what the Mets needed. More controversy. Oy.

Another anonymous source that is being taken at his word.
    What a joke.

Earth to HBT-stop believing everything you read.
    People have agendas.

    Non story.

    Nice try though.

If Ike was so concerned about being happy, he’d go to sleep a little arlier and remain teachable on the field. Quit behaving like a diva, know it all.

Messages like this make me want to be able to leave so many more than one thumbs down.

Lock the “anonymous baseball source” and Davis in a small room. Whoever comes out alive, their version is the truth.

    • mazblast - Sep 18, 2012 at 11:50 PM

Better yet, lock Davis in the room with both Fred and Jeff Wilpon. One comes out alive. Granted, that could cost Davis his life, but wouldn’t it be worth it to be rid of at least one Wilpon?

      What an atrocious organization.

ANYTHING to be rid of any Wilpons
