Three rainouts so far tonight

Sep 18, 2012, 5:37 PM EDT

It’s raining in the east. We know this because it rained in the midwest earlier. Usually seems to happen that way. As this post goes to press, the Blue Jays-Yankees, Phillies-Mets and Dodgers-Nationals games have been rained out. That may be it for the night as other northeast teams are on the road.

Guess that means I need some rain songs and/or poem suggestions for tomorrow’s “And That Happened.”  Already going with a Meat Puppets song. I’ll take two more requests, however.  No Eddie Rabbit, though. I have my reasons. He knows what he did.

Great news for the Dodgers in a way, if two consecutive days off can get Matt Kemp a little bit of rest for his banged up shoulder. (Sure, we all know he’s not going to be right until next season, but we can dream.)

    • natstowngreg - Sep 18, 2012 at 6:02 PM

Actually, the rain came up from the south, as it does sometimes. It’s the same storm front that rained on the Nats @ Braves series.

Twi-night doubleheader at Nats Park tomorrow. (Hope to be able to get out of the office in time). Necessary because the Nats don’t have a scheduled off-day left. Also, because the game matters, especially to the Dodgers. Fortunately, the forecast for DC tomorrow is good.

BTW, the extra day could also help Michael Morse with his banged up wrist, and the Nats’ bullpen generally.

Blame It On The Rain – Milli Vanilli

    • stlouis1baseball - Sep 19, 2012 at 11:14 AM

Awesome stuff Mama. I don’t know what made me laugh more.
The Milli Vanilli reference or your apology for said reference. Funny stuff.

Yep..great news for the Dodgers…two consecutive days they didn’t lose! As a Dodger fan I”m just shaking my head at this season. They went from no hope to thinking playoffs to back to no hope! I guess the only good news is that they want to spend and improve the team.

      • Francisco (FC) - Sep 18, 2012 at 10:24 PM

Awesome choice. And Awesome Profile Pic. Mine is 6 months old. Yours?

      • indaburg - Sep 19, 2012 at 6:39 AM

Thanks and congrats on your 6 month old. Your first? That pic is actually 2 years old, so my little girl is 3 now. I just like that pic because it was taken within the bowels of Tropicana Field during a tour, right outside of the Rays’s locker room. I also have a 7 month old boy, so I’m still in diaper change mode.

      • Francisco (FC) - Sep 19, 2012 at 10:18 AM

Yep, my first. Diaper change mode. Don’t I know it. And yesterday she pulled an all-nighter on us, the day before I had to go back to work. Ugg. It always feels like we go to war when it’s bedtime.
