Torii is currently 37. If they can resign him at a more reasonable contract, he is worth keeping. He is a little slower, but now that he is in RF, he is still a better than average fielder and solid hitter. They should be able to get something for Trumbo, Morales, or Bourjos if they can move them. If they have any young OF prospects in the minors, maybe they only need Hunter for a couple of seasons more anyway.

Depends on if those young guys are part of the GM's long term plan.

What this tells me is that Trumbo is not. Hunter does not put up the eye-popping power numbers Trumbo does or the high end, elite defense that Bourjos does but he is the more stable, balanced middle ground between the two.

And if you believe in non-statistical elements, Torii is probably Mike Trout's best friend and mentor on the roster as well as the clubhouse "leader"

How old is this guy? I'm thinking late 30's, wouldn't you let an old guy walk and keep the young and under contract controlled guys?

I could see Boston taking a run at Kendrys Morales to fill their 1st base needs for next year. Would be interested to see what a team would offer up for Trumbo after breakout year like this with still considerable team control left
