Somebody in Phillies management might want to consider growing a set. Halladay should be shut down and should be visiting more than one specialist. There is something nasty wrong with his arm/shoulder that even a long midsummer break could not fix. If the Phillies let him throw one more pitch this year they deserve what they'll get in 2013 from Doc--which may be nothing.

They already have overpaid perennial DL cases on the roster. They don't need another one. And a big part of the problem here is that neither Manuel nor Dubee thought it appropriate to take him out of games that were well in hand during the past few seasons. Instead he would go back out there after hitting the 100 pitch mark to senselessly wear down his aging arm and give up a few more runs. Sheer lunacy that in no small part explains part of this lost 2012 season. Halladay's chances of getting a ring are near zero now and will definitely BE zero if he throws one more pitch in 2012.
