I have a fun story about Deion. When he was in his baseball heyday a friend of a friend attended a game and was there during warmups. Everyone in the crowd was trying to get his attention for an autograph and he just kept warming up. Then, the friend of a friend busted out a football while calling Deion’s name. Deion saw this, laughed and had him throw him the football which he signed and threw back. I thought it was clever and I guess Deion did too.

That’s true but “average major leaguer” means he’s a better baseball player than 99.99 percent of the population. Even easily forgettable guys like Brian Jordan fall into this category – average-to-above-average baseball and football players but nowhere near HOFers in either sport – are among the most gifted athletes on the planet.

Yup, had it noy been for tha one play which screwed up his hip, Bo would have had a legitimate shot to be in the HOF in both sports.

My favorite was always Danny Ainge…just because he was the last guy you would ever suspect to have played in two different major sports leagues.

Judging by his career 47 OPS+ with the Blue Jays, he certainly made the right call jumping to the NBA

Deion can’t touch Bo. He was an average major leaguer at best, Bo was an All-Star and a All Pro. Props to him as a football player though. HOF says it all. Too bad Bo got hurt, he could have done the same.
