Some of those guys will pop up on the Top 100 Prospect list, along with others that have an opportunity to pop in. Cody Allen also has a chance to make an impact for the Indians in 2013, and he was drafted in 2011?

The Indians haven’t developed a starting pitcher (whether drafted or in trades) from the minor leagues since John Farrell left to be Red Sox pitching coach.

The pitchers you mentioned are hardly serious major league prospects. Last year the Indians won the AAA championship with Columbus. Not a one player from that team had even a smidgen of impact on the 2012 Indian team.

Watching Tribe right now in Chi. Bizarre moment: Hawk announces the attendance, 20K. The Sox are tied for 1st in the last week of the season, and they get 20K? Hawk ain’t tellin’ much more than that; whenever his boys are losing he falls into this funk of stony silence. It’s hilarious, really: he pouts like a child. I suppose he deserves some slack tonight: Sox pitchers have walked 12 tonight.

Actually, the Indians do have some young talent in pitching, more than you think Matt. TJ House, TJ McFarland, and Danny Salazar. One of the reasons why Akron Aeros won the AA Eastern League Title was due to the young pitching. The problem however is the Indians rarely fast track their Minor League players, like other teams have done. So, I agree to keep Jimenez, but get rid of Hernandez. Carlos Carrasco will be ready to start the 2013 season anyway. But there is some talent on their way that could push these other starters.

Seriously, go look up how Pomeranz and White have been faring at Coors Field and with the Rockies in general. Ain’t pretty.
