Is the English language that much of a stretch for you. Craig? He, him, himself. Different parts of speech, and NOT interchangeable. Me, myself, I, also not interchangeable.

On paper and history the deals Alderson did made sense. Its not Alderson’s fault that they didnt pan out and that the nature of bullpens are fickle.

Let’s see if Wright hits FA, he’ll be 31, seeking a 5 year deal or similar in the $20-22 range, for which he will be 36 by the time the contract ends… Yeah fits the Ruben Profile to a ‘T’.

David Wright would look great in white and red pinstripes and if Ruben is smart this off season. He pockets his money and waitd for Wright to hit FA.

You trust him to do what’s best for the team? While he’s better than Minaya, no question, the job he did “rebuilding the bullpen” this year is questionable.

I trust Alderson to do whats best for the team. Unlike Omar Minaya, Alderson knows what he’s doing. With that said if there is no deal done by opening day next season then Alderson needs to explore trading deals.

The Mets need at least 2 corner outfielders and a top flight starting catcher along with a reliever or two. With free agent options prohibitive the trade route is the way to go to make the team competitive again. Sandy Alderson doesn’t get emotional about players, his job is to build a team that will compete for a championship if that means trading Wright to get some of those pieces so be it.
