LOL. That was a mistake. I’ll have to sacrifice either a Ray or an Oriole this afternoon to satisfy the baseball gods. I don’t think either of those are felonies, but sacricing an Athletic might be (does law enforcement have an east coast bias too? If so, maybe it isn’t). Sacrificing an Angel is pretty much how we ended up with Lucifer becoming the Devil, so I won’t be doing that.

I’m a Sox fan, have been since I could walk to games from my house as a kid, and I’m pretty disappointed. I don’t see the Tigers faltering, and we’re too far back in the Wild Card. Oh well…

He-gon’: The Hawk-less Sox broadcast booth was sort of tolerable. Lucky thing he wasn’t there, poor SOB would have been foaming at the mouth over the Sox’s wasted chances against Shields. But I too would like to see the Rays get to the O’s series with a shot. Not because I’m a fan of any team, I’m just a fan of fun, and a finish like last year’s, no matter who wins, would be fun.

The best thing for the Rays is the A’s and Angels both must finish out versus the Rangers and Mariners. Hopefully the Rays take care of business against the White Sox and a sweep won’t be necessary against the O’s.

Wowza! The Rays were down 7 in the Wildcard standings 9 days ago. They are down 2 to the A’s, and 3 to the O’s. They are going to pull a miracle again!!!

Bud’s dream scenario of the second wildcard enabling the Red Sox to finally make the post season again might end up being his biggest blunder if it allows the Athletics, Orioles, or Rays to make the post season. A Rays-Brewers World series might beat some primetime cable shows.

The final day of the season last year was the most exciting in my lifetime. Dan Johnson’s 2 out, 2 strike homerun was the most “clutch” homerun I have ever seen. Longo gets the credit because of his walkoff, but Johnson’s was more necessary, with the Sox leading the O’s at the time.

Please baseball. Please make this year just as epic (preferably with a similiar Rays victory).
