Knorr and Porter both are highly regarded in the clubhouse at Nats Park, and both are going to be great managers. Astros’ have made a great selection (if this is true) and Bo will hopefully be given an opportunity to succeed down there.

I think the plan has always been for Randy Knorr to be Davey’s successor. They have been grooming Knorr for multiple years in the minors and now as Davey’s bench coach. Knorr managed Desmond, Espinosa, Bernadina, Storen, Strasburg (breifly), Tyler Moore, Lombardozzi and several others so he has a good relationship with a lot of the core of the team.

This season, Randy Knorr was brought up from managing in the minors to be the bench coach. Mike Rizzo hasn’t said this, but it looks to me like he may be grooming Knorr to be Davey’s successor.

Hate to lose Bo, but it’s great that he’s finally getting a shot. Good Luck, Bo.
