Unless the Rangers just tank against the Angels (and it’s always possible) they will have the division wrapped up by the time they visit Oakland. Washington is making moves for setting up his rotation for the ALDS. I don’t seriously believe for a minute that Darvish couldn’t have started the other day. Then again it’s a gamble because the A’s could have easily taken three of four but even then he could have been used on short rest for both the Angels and A’s series if need be and still be ready for the ALDS. It’d be a bit of a stretch but the team seems to be pretty confident they will have the division wrapped up by Sunday. Let’s hope so. That’d also mean the Angels would be eliminated so the more the merrier.
