This walkoff stuff has been absent for almost all of August and September. Nice to see again. My own take is that the A’s are too young and stupid to know that they aren’t supposed to be doing this. They were supposed to lose 90 games, not win 90. A lot of fun to experience.

Loved the Cespedes scoring from first. Kudos to his wheels and alertness. He had a great jump off first, and took advantage of the failure to get the ball back in the infield A simple throw to second base would have kept him at third. The weakness of the grounder between 1B and 2B helped, too.

I don’t know why people think the Orioles are “lucky.” This is what Buck Showalter does. Not to mention the Orioles did have talent… just no idea how to use it.

Two 30 HR hitters. Lots of youth. They’ve got their interior defense finalized and locked-in now.

And the biggest aspect of a winning season… this next offseason free agents will actually WANT to come to Baltimore. That gorgeous ballpark.

Could they add a more proven arm in the rotation? Sure. I’d say they’re a lot more likely to compete in the AL East the next couple years than they are to be the basement dwellers they have been for the last… 14 years.

I don’t know as much about the A’s… but hey, the good news for them is Houston is joining their division! That’s quite a few automatic wins right there! )

(But that being said, you might want to look up the meaning of “fortunate”…)
