By using “most” before “Cubs” it’s clear that “Cubs” is being used an adjective—describing a manner of play—and not as a possessive.

There should be no apostrophe.

Imagine “Cubs” being replaced with “Cubs-like” and it still works. “Cubs’-like” does not work.

The only way a possessive is correct here is if the headline was “…loses errorless streak by doing it the Cubs’ way.”

Its the possessive case when the noun (“Cubs”) already has an S at the end. I’m no copy editor, but I’d write it as “the most ‘Cubs’ way possible” since the team name is used out of its usual context – as an adjective instead of a noun. But if you want to use the possessive to describe the Cubs’ way of playing I guess that works too
