Carter: 396 HR, 184 with men on (46%), 119 that pen his team ahead (30%), 4 walkoffs
Henderson: 197 HR, 75 with men on (38%), 56 that put his team ahead (28%), 5 walkoffs

Henderson didn’t spend much time hitting third or fourth, so he likely had fewer opportunities with men on base than guys like Abreu and Carter.

Actually, I think this is interesting–would love to see a post on this, see if anyone who has at least 200 HRs truly hit “clutch” homers at a higher rate than others. I kind of doubt it.

Abreu has 287 homers: 141 with men on (49%), 111 that put his team ahead (39%), 5 that ended games
Bagwell has 449 homers: 201 with men on (45%), 148 that put his team ahead (33%), 3 that ended games

Abreu had 32 solo homers with his team up or down by four or more runs. Bagwell had 65.

Any “clutch” players you’d like me to run the same searches for?
