This was weak Bobby, I turned the game on during my ride home hoping to hear that the Red Sox were at least trying and all I heard were dejected announcers saying, “Well, it’s nine-nothing Yankees…”

Jesus Christ. It was only the 2nd inning at that point. I understand that you have the worst record in franchise history since 1966, but I believe all your paychecks are still coming in and that means…i don’t know…TRY or something?

I don’t why I should expect the Red Sox to actually care now after not giving a shit for 5 months of this season.

The O’s, unfortunately, are on their own.

Isnt anyone surprised the Orioles didnt want a little payback for the Orioles knocking them from the playoffs last year. Its like there actually rooting for them as their playing them cuz its better for the Sox than having the Yankees win again even though both have already made the playoffs.

Those two teams are currently tied for the AL East lead with each winning nine of their 18 head to head games, and hte O’s holding a slight 92-90 runs scored advantage. I’d call that pretty even.

Now if they could have won more at home against the Yankees, that would be a bit more relevant as they were 3-6 at home and 6-3 at Yankee Stadium.

The Orioles went 9-9 vs NYY, and 13-5 vs BOS. If the Yanks win out (as expected), they’ll go 13-5 vs. BOS. Both teams went 11-7 against Toronto.

The Yankees went 8-10 vs TB. If the O’s lose out (not likely), they’ll go 9-9.

So, Baltimore owns tiebreakers over New York thanks to having a better record in the division, they have 4 more AL East wins with 3 to go.

That’s really no different than the lineup they brought against the O’s that led to a sweep that has all but eliminated the Rays from the playoffs. If anyone should be miffed its them, but ultimately it’s your own fault if you find yourself relying on horrible teams like Boston to try to help you with playoff positioning.
