Russell Martin has saved his best offense of the year for September and beyond. If anyone had asked me in July or August if that were possible I’d have had to say, no way. But I would be wrong. Looks like Girardi was right for sticking with him. Could be now he might even be with the Yankees going forward maybe even past 2013. I guess we’ll see.
Anyway it’s good to be up 1-0 with Andy on the mound Monday for the Yankees. Postseason win #20 would be very nice come the end of the night.

While the Yankees strike out a lot, and leave a ton of guys on base, they also hit a lot of bombs, and at any given time, as we saw tonight they can explode, anyone in that line-up can hurt you at any given at bat.

I was impressed how loud Camden Yards was. O’s fans were pumped.

Even as a yanks fan, it’s good to see some new blood (O’s/Nats) in the postseason.

My thoughts…….CC was spectacular. The Yankees and Orioles both had numerous chances to take control of the game so this one could have gone either way. Real nice evening for Yankees fans. I was impressed how loud Camden Yards was. O’s fans were pumped.

What really got quiet was the booth with the tbs crew.
You’d think somebody just ran over the family dog the way the mood changed in there.
Good thing the camera wasn’t on in the booth…the wringing of hands and flow of man tears would have been too much for young children to witness.
