Nunez wore out LHP in the minors & has posted a slash line of .360/.400/.460/.860 vs them with the big club.

Factor in the speed and it’s a no-brainer on taking him over Jones.

His problem is the glove, not the bat. Also, he is very fast and fits in well in the 9th spot batting in front of Jeter and Ichiro Suzuki when the lineup rolls over. Girardi liked to use Gardner in the 9th spot for the same reason.
