Giants have lead on Reds in the middle of NLDS Game 4

There’s a bullpen game underway in Cincinnati.

Giants starter Barry Zito lasted just 2 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks.

Reds starter Mike Leake was lifted in the fifth after yielding three earned runs on six hits and two walks.

Tim Lincecum is in — and on a sort of roll — for the Giants and Sam LeCure came on in relief of Leake.

San Francisco has a 5-2 lead at a sunny Great American Ball Park as this NLDS Game 4 moves along to the top of the sixth inning. The Reds lead the five-game series 2-1 after sweeping the first two games and then losing in Game 3 on Tuesday evening.

Leake is worse than Rolen somehow

I really thought the Reds needed to win this series today. I wouldn’t want to have the odds of beating Cain or Bumgarner twice. You can smell the Cards and Giants in the NLCS.

Pablo just hit a 2 run moon shot out of the park to give the gianysan 8-3 lead bottom 7 now

Sounds very quiet in Cincinnati now.

Good to see the Giants’ offense finally wake up.

If the Reds lose this series, Dusty should not be back. How has he made this team better than any other manager could? His commitment to veterans and over using pitchers is gonna hurt this team if he sticks around

@merchie89, Giants fans were saying the same thing about Bochy in 2010.

And? The reds are a flawed team. Basically a 3 man pitching staff (Arroyo and Bailey are combine into a great pitcher) and no contact hitting at all.

They are locked in with this team for 4 years, and all they do is hit singles or HRs. Baker is going burn out the pitching staff, does it all the time in each of his stops

And… They won the World Series that year.

    Dear Official Scorer:

You have the latitude to credit Tim Lincecum with the W instead of crediting the first reliever to follow Zito. Use it.

    With thanks,
    A Fan

P.S. Your decision to give Mike Leake a hit on that grounder to Scutaro in the 4th was pretty danged ridiculous. Change that.

Hey, you did the right thing with the W. Nice job, Mr. Official Scorer.
