For those of you tuning into this blog hoping to read about the Reds-Giants game, the Giants are up 3-1 in the top of the 2nd. Bochy has turned his power hitters loose – with Pagan and Blanco homering. Zito has already walked 3 in 1 IP – walking in the Red’s only run. Something tells me it is going to be a long afternoon/evening in Cincy.

You mean Rosenthal retired Zimmerman and LaRoche, I highly doubt Mattheus would pitch against his own teammates, then again, anythings possible

No. Just amazement like going to the zoo and seeing the gibbons using international sign language to indicate to the passing populace what they think of the captive zoo life. At first you think you’re seeing something wonderful and wholly appropriate, but then you realize they’re just flipping you off en-route to nose picking. Meaningful? Could be. Useful gesture? Ayep. But a true statement of ability? Not so much.

Dang, left to walk the dog in the snow (yes, SNOW) and what do I see when I get back? The ridiculousness of Chris Carpenter hitting a double. Mind you he coped with Holliday’s hit better than Holliday did. This pitcher hitting thing, it has its moments.
