Alex Rodriguez has struggled mightily in this ALDS against the O’s, managing just one hit while fanning seven times in 13 plate appearances. So Yankees manager Joe Girardi finally decided to take action in the ninth inning of Game 3 on Wednesday night.

Raul Ibanez entered as a pinch-hitter in A-Rod’s spot with the Yankees trailing the Orioles 2-1 and promptly swatted a game-tying solo home run to right field. The dinger sent a charge through Yankee Stadium and pushed Game 3 into extra innings.

Rodriguez was the first to greet Ibanez when he returned to the dugout and the two exchanged a double high five. The Orioles were just retired in the top of the 10th inning, so the Yanks now have a chance to win it.

Granderson pisses me off more than Arod for some reason… i seriously cannot stand the guy. It;s like he comes to the plate and is an automatic SO

Except of course for tose 100+ Hrs over the last three season, .. not to mention his EXCELLENT play in CF. And he’s a great teammate. Except for those things he pisses me off too.

oh and his “outstanding” fielding is where you misplay almost every ball so the catch which looks amazing but should have been routine is what i like the most

Got to love that this guy was picked up from the scrap heap and the source ( phillies) they get the curse (cliff lee), if I remember correctly was quoted as saying he wanted to pitch for a younger team then the Yankees and a team who would give him a better chance of winning a word series? Only when we got Raul this season did we become the oldest team (avg ) in the majors surpassing which team.. You guessed it ,the phillies? Guess cliff BS caught up with him and I hope his new home likes the back end of that contract.
