never like to second guess buck but why start saunders over Tillman. Tillman has been better all year.

For what it’s worth, Hughes has a 99 ERA+ this year, Saunders a 103 (117 with the Orioles). It’s a more-or-less even matchup by that number, with the Yankees possessing the better lineup as well as relying less on potential (or certain) part-season flukes, like Saunders, McClouth, and Ford.

No way Saunders pitches another post season game like his last start. He will get hit hard tonight. Of course, it might happen to Hughes too.
