The other great memory of Giants v Latos was 2010 to win the NLWest on the last game of the year when he was on the Padres. He seems to own us in regular season games and now that makes 2 of 2 where we beat him during the most important game…win or be eliminated game!

I guess we will be seeing more childish baseball signatures by Latos where he writes how he hates SF!.

Hanigan, as catcher, would figure to know the ump’s zone today as well as anybody. I blame dusty for leaving Latos out there, but not for trusting Hanigan in that spot. If it was a legit strike, it’s on Hanigan; if it wasn’t a strike no need to deflect blame for the ump missing it.

Yep, as soon as the error allowed the 2nd run to score I was curious how Latos would respond. That he walked the next guy was not a surprise. To stick with him was questionable at that point, but then when the next guy got a base hit the hook had to come. But nope…in a do-or-die game they stuck with Latos till the wheels had flown off.

While no team has come back from an 0-2 deficit in the NLDS, the Padres did come back against the Cubs in an NLCS in 1984, when that round was best of five.

Which doesn’t mean that the Giants’ comeback isn’t impressive, too.

Latos is a head case. The reds gave up way too much talent for him. He’s a great pitcher when things go well, but he completely unravels under pressure.

I’m very impressed with the Giants. I’d left them for dead after the first 2 games. I derided their offense as impotent. Boy, was I wrong about the composition/drive of this team. My hats off to them.
