It’s inning 8 in the ALCS and A-Rod was just pinch-hit for. I think that he ought to sit for the whole ALCS. It is not only his lack of production in the post season. He has gotten stupidly lazy. When he struck out, with the bases loaded, with less than two out, and first base open, he just walked to the dugout, allowing himself to be tagged out by the catcher. Had he acted like the professional that he is paid to perform like, the catcher would have had to throw the ball to first. Who knows what may have happened? Maybe the ball is thrown into right field and two runs score! Alex Rodrigues’ contract should definitely not be renewed.

Mr. NONCLUTCH if there ever was one. All you have to do is SAY the word PLAYOFF, and he strikes out.

Wish the rest of us could get paid that kind of cash for NOT performing precisely when needed the most. But enjoy that 100 mil – that’s on the YANKS and MLB.

A-Rod is 8/22 with 4 HR against Hammel in his career. Chavez is 1/6 with 1 HR. His benching has to do with the pathetic late game at bats hes been putting up. Like a 4 pitch strikeout, no contact at bat against Darren O’Day and his 85 mph fastball that I could hit on the ground to second base.

A-Rod earned the benching, but so have Swisher and Granderson. Perhaps also Tex. and even Cano. Not so sure about Ichiro. Cannot bench them all, unfortunately. At the end of the day this crop of pinstripers has not shown they can win big games. At least not the batters with the exception of Jete who will go down in history with all of the Yankee greats. A-Rod and Swisher with 2nd and 3rd one out were painful to watch, and Girardi lost the guts he had the night before to pinch hit for A-Rod when it mattered.

If 3B is a platoon now, I suppose the Yankees could add the salaries of ARod and Chavez together and divide by two. That way they have a pair of $15MM third basemen this year.
