Don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of domed baseball stadiums (or stadia for you Latin scholars). Baseball is a game subject to cancellation from rain. Football is a game that plays through everything but lightning storms and heavy locust invasion. So in the last 15 years, we in Detroit build an open-air baseball stadium but a domed football field. Wish Comerica had a retractable dome.

Absolutely! As for other baseball lingo I’ve personally always hated is “ducks on the pond.”

That’s not nearly as annoying as the latest hip phrase that the baseball talking heads use. “Plate a run”…. It just sounds ridiculous. For 140 years teams and players have scored runs, batted in runs, prevented runs. Now we plate them. Uhh.
