Cubsfan, give it a rest. That 'number 5' team just beat the team with the best record in baseball. This series should've been an easy elimination for the Nats, that's why we played them. Don't take it out on the Cardinals because they were able to pull an upset. With your logic, we should just put the teams with the best records from each league directly into the World Series again, which will reduce the chances the Cubs will be back in it anytime soon by even more. Be careful what you inadvertently wish for.

No curly W for you, Rizzo. As a matter of fact, this team didn't lose this game - YOU DID.

Bring on the hate. Rizzo fucked this team real good when he sat Strasburg for the postseason. And no, it didn't have much to do with him pitching in a certain game/situation, but instead it was all frame of mind for the team. These guys had it in their heads that they were down a very important man and decided weeks ago that they were FUCKED. They couldn't get over it.

I feel bad for the players. Sure, they could have somehow found a way to pull this game out last night and probably should have. You just don't give away 6 run leads like that gentleman. When Mike Rizzo is your leader in the office, this is what happens. He's such a bad ass from the streets of Chicago and ready to punk anyone that talks shit about him. What a joke. What a complete and utter joke. He blew this series for this team - as I predicted - and you know what? I absolutely feel like they will NOT return next year. Injuries will plague this team and I bet the only man left standing will be Mr. Strasburg.

Feel bad for the players on this one. They were screwed in the head long before the dance ever got rolling.

Nats fans welcome to the club of heartbreaking, mindlowing disappointment. You are officially a fan base, great atmosphere last night. That said Ruben Amaro your on the clock cuz Washington Is not going away.

Had the Cardinals not blown game 1 this would have been a sweep. Don't forget that. People saying Strasburg not playing is the difference are just making sorry excuses. The Cardinals WON this series, not the other way around. Blew game 1, dominated games 2 and 3. The Jim Joyce show in game 4 was a joke. And game 5...wow. Nats have a bright future, but we can talk about that all offseason. GO CARDS!! 12in12

Not that it matters anymore but I'd be more mad that during Freese and Desmonds' at bats Storen disnt throw them a pitch anywhere close enough for them to chase. Storen choked. He was awful.

As all major sports have shown in recent years, you just need to make the postseason and anything can happen. The lowest seeded team has won 3/4 major championships last year alone (Kings, Giants, Cardinals), the NBA being the lone exception.

Clearly Shiva has never seen a Nats game! LaRoche was their MVP and Gio was their best pitcher - so what are you talking about? And don't try to blame their losses on the Nats. MLB changed the rules to let a pretty crappy Cardinals team into the postseason where anything can happen. And it did. Congrats to the Cards and all, but they wouldn't even have been there in any other year. Having Strasburg wouldn't have helped much - the offense sucked until tonight and the Cardinals had our number. Oh well. That's luck.

Questionable decisions by the manager no doubt, but im not sure any true Nats fan will say it didnt cost us the game. Im not sure tied after the 9th could we win it being deflated like that anyways. But what i dont get is how we eased up our aggressive swinging, and our pitchers pitched not to lose. Gio was scared of a grand slam and walked in a run, Suzuki and Storen both telegraphed the Slider and i dont get it. Molina in particular was late on both fastballs id stick with that until he either beat you or you beat him. And as late as he was, id expect Storen to win that battle. Just cuz his slider was so low they both knew it couldn't be hit for a home run doesnt mean it needs to be telegraphed like that. But when you lose like that you can question everything. Not walking Kozma definitely made no sense, thats for sure.

It won't stop...you are right though, really had nothing to do with Strasburg. In the end you really have to credit the Cards once again. Did you see some of those 2 strike takes. I mean, those were some pretty decent sliders. Couldn't believe they laid off. Man, I thought the Phillies going out last year was bad....but this had to be horrible for Nats fans.
