Information is still trickling in on this. Here’s CSNBayArea.com’s Andrew Baggarly:

Amy Gutierrez, in-game reporter for CSN Bay Area, has a little more:

Per #sfgiants Kelly is on his way to hospital. Likely concussion & will receive standard CT scan. He is alert and doing ok considering.

We’ll update the situation throughout the evening as more news becomes available. The Giants will kick off their best-of-seven NLCS against the Cardinals on Sunday night at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

Scary. Ever since the Coolbaugh death in ’07, coaches have had to wear helmets on the field. I hope that applies to BP, too.

That’s a sickening sound, of a hard ball striking someone in the head, and a sickening feeling, for the person who hit it. Hope Kelly is ok.
