The young men have the same problem a lot. The mental anguish of failure. Some are never the same. Closers like Mariano Rivera dont exist. I mean he lost 2 world series game 7s and is the best closer of all time. Not everyone can handle the immense pressure of such failure. As young as Storen is, as vital a position he plays on this team, he is the one im worried about the most mentally. Hope he can be a Rivera and shake it off.

IMHO, looking back on the inning, it comes down to this. The closer faced faced the bottom of the other team’s lineup, needing to get one out. He failed, Daniel Descalso and Pete Kozma succeeded. Props to them.

Nats fans know this in their hearts. Losing this series had little to do with Strasburg or what Davey Johnson did or didn’t do. The Nats had a two run lead in the 9th inning at home with their closer on the hill. This is ALL on Drew Soren. He blew this game and the Nats chances of advancing. All on Soren.

When healthy…one of the best in MLB.
Blown saves happen. I think he was fatigued. Probably should have walked Kozma (to load the bases) and pitched to the pinch hitter (Tony Cruz). But do you really want to load the bases with a guy on the hill who just walked two batters and was as taxed as Drew Storen was? Washington will be back.
