Average of 300 calls per game x 167 games = 50100 calls, and this one is more important than any of the others?

That’s a nice great big juicy rationalization.

I’m watching the same pitch tracker system and I don’t think the Yankees pitchers are getting any better calls.

The ump blew the call. It happens but to suggest that the it’s some kind of cosmic justice is BS. It was a blown call.

Fister got squeezed big time for the first four innings anyway, so its all good. He lives on the corners and just wasn’t getting the calls pettite was. Bad calls / borderline calls tend to even out.

Speaking of bad calls, home plate ump has been horrible tonight. Fister having most of these calls going against him.

Speaking of Fister, gotta figure his dog is disappointed he wasn’t more seriously injured.

While Fister might be getting squeezed, Laird is doing him zero favors. Notice the difference in receiving between Martin and Laird? Or watch the master in Molina during the Cards games. Those two steal strikes whereas Laird is practically giving away balls.

Fister has not been wild, but has been getting squeezed. Also, that was no slow roller to Peralta who made an impressive barehanded grab of a hard struck ball which ricocheted off the pitcher. I think the great play may have influenced the umpire, as Cano seemed to be there just ahead of the ball. This writer is clearly a Yankees fan.

Saying ‘blown call’ makes it sound like it was atrocious. When we can only tell the ump blew the call because we get 15 or so HD replays in super slo-mo and still have to freeze it to see if the runner was safe I think we can let it go.

Also, nobody commends the umps when they get it right and we need the same amount of examination to realize it, as has already happened in this game when Ibanez slid into second. Just saying
