Also, Verlander is 5-4 with a 3.74 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 32/76 BB/K in 77 IP over 13 career games against the Yankees in the regular season, 1-0 with a 5.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 9/17 BB/KK in 14 1/3 IP over 3 postseason games. Not terrible, but I wouldn’t call that an “overmatch”.

Hughes tends to give up long balls (not good against top of Tigers lineup) and Verlander tends to overmatch Yankees. But the rest of the match ups look to be good games.
