Yours points are all valid, and i agree 100%. However in our society theres a way to approach these situations properly. Clearly hes going to root for cardinals, but how he does it matters to the DC fans. Why not say something that shows respect to the team you grew up loving, and the team that plays in the city you now play in. RG3 has done an excellent job supporting other washington area teams, and im sure he is always rooting for his hometown teams as well. Not condoning the threats, just saying he can avoid any of these issues quite easily.

Beal was great but he’s right that those guys were right up there with him if we are only talking about their HS careers. Add in David Lee or Johhny Parker from Central back in the ’70s or some of the Vashon players during their peak years. You can go back to Ed McCauley who had a pretty good NBA career.

Bill Bradley was easily better than all but that would be stretching St. Louis to include Crystal City.

That was uncalled for. So freakin’ what that a kid from St.Louis, who hasn’t played a regular season game in Washington, roots for his hometown team — in another sport? Bet he also roots for the Rams and Blues, to the extent he pays attention to those sports.

He has lots of time to learn to love the Nats and Redskins and Caps, if he wants. Regardless, we will appreciate him if he plays well and helps the Wizards win for a change.

Besides, with all the Washington area players in the NBA, there are probably a few who root for the Nats while playing in other teams’ markets.

As elsewhere in America, the hatred and bigotry exists in the Washington area. It is expressed mainly through politics and football. Being expressed through baseball is new, because baseball now matters more to more people. As much good has come from the Washington Nationals’ 2012 season for this area, that is the bad.
