Drew Storen also received a lot of death threats on Twitter. Sorry, natstowngreg, this is how it works. It only takes one or two idiots in your fan base for the media to paint all of your fans as animals. Mitch Williams received a few death threats after the '93 series, and Phillies fans are still hearing about it today. Doesn't sound like the national media is running with any of these Nats death threats stories (surprise, surprise) so they will probably die a quick death.

Uncalled for, Craig. It's one thing to troll us Nats fans over the team's performance or personnel moves or whatever baseball matters please your inner juvenile delinquent and generate page views. This is, after all, just a baseball blog. We're all juvenile delinquents on some level.

But taking a blanket cheap shot at Nats fans based on the hatred and bigotry (and, it appears, possible criminality) of a few is out of bounds. Especially when that kind of behavior can be found anywhere in America.

This seems like a good place to say this...

I don't have cable. So I listen to a lot of games on the radio. Which is always a joy for me. Baseball works so well in words and sounds when done right. And ESPN Radio has been doing it to perfection with Shulman and Hershiser. Orel really knows the game well, seems to see ever nuance. Dan's play is free of gimmicks, and full of the right detail.

If you get tired of Buck and McCarver during the Series, you can do a lot worse than to turn off the sound and turn on the stream of these fine gentlemen.

(BTW, Buck's football-baseball doubleheader was a grandstand ploy. Fox should have insisted that someone else do the 49ers-Giants game.)

What I didn't miss was the frigging TBS crew lamenting the loss of Jeter and making the game IMPOSSIBLE to watch.

TBS sucks and they just need to find a way to get Costas or something. That is, if they want to be serious about baseball they need to get real broadcasters up there. They just transplant their shitty TNT NBA crew and think, "hey...sports is sports is sports."

Baseball is different and baseball fans are used to a certain..."thing".

Don Orsillo sucks.
Ernie Johnson especially sucks.
The crew at TBS doing graphics especially sucks, right Carl Ripken Jr. and Willie Mayes?
John Smoltz wants to be in your conversation EVERY second.
Ron Darling is the antithesis of that and makes me want to sleep.
Cal was ALMOST as bad.
David Wells is a joke in the studio.
And I just want to have Eck's hair and drive a 1980 Camaro EVERYWHERE. He is the man.

The games - even with SHIT offense - have been good to watch, that is, if you enjoy games with good pitching (on the AL side). Most of the USA probably hates it and wants all the dudes on roids so they score 20 runs a game. I'm okay with the games.

What I also didn't miss were the commercial breaks. How on Earth am I supposed to watch anything in this DVR world with TBS taking shit-length breaks? I should just DVR the 1st hour of the game and watch late. It's insufferable.

And TBS sucks.
