I think Bo Porter is the right man for a young team quite honestly. Hope to see Singleton, Cosart, and Springer at some point next season. I realize it is a long shot out of spring training, but I want to see them. But dont expect too too much in the off season. Hope to see them open up the wallet for a DH though.

Yeah, he really dragged down those loaded Royals (6 seasons) and Mets (7 seasons) franchises. No wonder he’s hardly ever in the postseason.

Funny, and I’d actually agree, but now I wonder whether it’s Dan Lozano who’s due for target practice. Somehow, the Giants-said-Beltran-said winter-signing story gets bottlenecked with HIM. Beltran is so good, it’s not funny. If he actually went to the Cardinals from the Giants to play for the team that twice knocked him out of the playoffs, and THE GIANTS return the favor for strike three, I’ll be busting a gut.

Great numbers, for sure, but hasn’t this guy only been in the playoffs a few times? The fact his teams don’t play in the post season may speak more volumes than his playoff numbers…

Be interested to see if they make some remedial moves in the off-season. They are the youngest team in the league and have the lowest projected payroll. I know the model is Tampa Bay. I also know the farm system is at least two years away. But it would be very nice if they at least got a couple of marginal hitting outfielders and #3-#5 pitchers for some kind of bargain price. You know, someone who actually carries a positive WAR for a change.

It would sure make the transition less painful if they hinted at respectability. I have no idea what the plans are, though.

He was free to move on. I resented the way they jerked Houston management around like there was some chance they were staying and then walked when the free agent market had pretty much dried up. But Drayton was stupid and paid the price.

But you’re right, also. That was eons ago. He has been a talented player, but he wasn’t worth the money he got on that contract. And bygones are bygone.
