"They had a bad year this season but I don’t think they are that far off from contending in the NL West."

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? No doubt they have talent on this team with Fowler, Tulo, and Gonzo but in no way are they even close to competing for the NL West. To be honest with you I was surprised they didn't trade away young talent at the deadline like they have in years past. The new owners of the Dodgers aren't acquiring big money contract for no reason. Even though they were "forced" to take on some dead money in Beckett but they are trying to get better. The Rockies have no shot of landing any FA pitchers thanks in part to the basket-case that was Jeremy Guthrie, why would anyone want to come and pitch in Denver?

Saying the Rockies had a "bad" season is an understatement and completely asinine. Losing a franchise high 98 games while the owners refuse to admit they have no clue what they are doing will continually put the Rockies in the bottom half of the league with no shot at the NL West. To think otherwise is exactly what the Monforts want. They will continue to make money, filling Coors Field with fans oblivious to the fact they are watching a horrible product.

All this outrage over a t-shirt? Has everyone forgotten his thong?

You have to wonder, what is it the Colorado's management sees in the now more mature Giambi?

Fowler, Gonzalez and Tulowitzki are good pieces to have. Wilin Rosario has a power bat behind the plate. They also have some decent supporting players in Jordan Pacheco, Michael Cuddyer, DJ LeMahiue, Chris Nelson and Josh Rutledge. The offensive pieces are there if any of the pitching pieces like Alex White, Juan Nicasio and Drew Pomeranz can put it together and they get a full year out of Chacin.
