The x-rays were negative, and now we have an official diagnosis on Marco Scutaro‘s hip per the MRI:
Marco Scutaro traveled to St. Louis w/ #SFGiants late morning. Has left hip muscle strain. Status unclear for NLCS Game 3 Wed vs #Cardinals

Scutaro stayed in the game for a while, but it wouldn’t be at all shocking to see Ryan Theriot manning the keystone in Game 3.

It was a stupid and reckless thing for Holliday to do, but if Scutaro is not hurt then it’s best for the Giants to put this episode behind them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Giants base runner taking out a Cards player on the base paths if the opportunity presents itself, though.

Bochy was just quoted on MLB Tonight as Scutaro be “likely” to start tomorrow.
So much for TheRiot.
