Oct 17, 2012, 1:50 PM EDT

Some dispatches from the Giants’ pregame media session:

  1. Jeremy T - Oct 17, 2012 at 1:55 PM

    Apparently this matters somehow?

    • Jeremy T - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:05 PM

Wow, 4 quick thumbs-downs. People take their small accidental slip-ups seriously, I guess…

  2. crpls - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:03 PM

Melky has (had) the Melk-men. Basically milk men. Milk is white. Blanco means white. EASY TO CONFUSE THE TWO!

    • pilonflats - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:49 PM

thanks crpls, its about time someone made some sense of the issue

  3. Stiller43 - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:10 PM

    Wtf cares?

  4. jkcalhoun - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:11 PM

At one point the Giants were evaluating whether to start Belt in LF in playoff games when Posey played 1B instead of C, but they shelved the idea when his instincts and range out there made distinguishing him from Melky far too easy.

Blanco is a great kid. Smart on the bases and has a great attitude. While obviously not an ideal starter, he’s got enough skill at the plate to make him a useful tool on the team.

    • Francisco (FC) - Oct 17, 2012 at 2:31 PM

And to think, once upon a time, being called a tool was an insult. Now it’s praise!

      • natstowngreg - Oct 17, 2012 at 4:17 PM

        It’s Old School praise.

Groundbreaking news here. So much so…2 1/2 reporters are all over it like a second shirt.

  8. stlouis1baseball - Oct 17, 2012 at 3:26 PM

I suppose the one thumbs down is from the person who thinks Jon Heyman is a full reporter.
    I apologize Mrs. Heyman.
