Nevermind. I’m confusing my coaches. Pettini wasn’t fired for criticizing the GM, it was bullpen coach Marty Mason.

That’s the thing though…isn’t it? Different organizations have different philosophies about scouting, analysis, player development, etc. If your philosophy on those issues are not consistent with the organization you work for….you probably need to find an organization whose approach to baseball is consistent with your own. I don’t think that’s a reason for a coach/scout/FO person to be bitter….it’s just a reality.

You obviously haven’t been paying attention. They fired their whole management staff, a large fraction of their scouting staff, virtually all of their field staff; hell, they’re even firing announcers like crazy.

The hard part in the near future is going to be finding anyone on the Astros who has been there more than two years.

I’m pretty sure Pettini was let go in STL for being critical of the Mozeliak. I’d be surprised if he returned.

Yes! they finally figured it out. they sucked for the last two seasons because of the bench coach. whew…I’m glad this will get them back to the top of the division. Joe Pettini was definitely the reason they sucked so much. Problem solved.
