St. Louis:

What does: “There’s a reason why tornadoes, floods, droughts and other natural disasters regularly devastate the Midwest. It’s because that’s where America keeps all its creeps and weirdos, and it’s as good a place as any to let nature cull those herds” have to do with the "entitlement angle?"

This is why inbred creeptoids like you should be sent to explore the inner workings of tornadoes, because you can't connect one idea to another. How many morons can American society tolerate? Not only are you people moronic, but you're also hypocrites.

As of this writing, no one has offered a reasonable argument that would explain why New Yorker’s have a sense of sports entitlement. So far, all I've read about is how much country folk like pissing outdoors, like it's a "ritual" or a right of passage. Excuse me, but isn't that a sense of entitlement, i.e., you live in a rural environment; therefore, you're entitled to piss outdoors?

Cultural entitlement vs. sports entitlement, and you're trying to pass yourself off as better? St. Louis, go piss on the arch.

I'll repeat it for you, St. Louis: "What is it about a New Yorker’s demeanor that gives you the impression that he or she has a sense of entitlement?" After you've cobbled together some half-assed, bullshit answer, go look in the mirror; you're nothing but a talking dog, pissing on a tree.

You are a mindless idiot who has obviously never left your urban "paradise."

Where did you inbred morons get this idea that the fans of New York teams have a sense of entitlement? Was some blog jerk off discussing the concept as you were surfing through, and you just happened to read about it, because that's what it sounds like?

Tell us Gomer; what is it about a New Yorker's demeanor that give you the impression that he or she has a sense of entitlement? Is it that thing about each unmarried adult having their own bed? Is that what's got your chimichangas in an up roar?

@sophie - Only in NY could a “newspaper” — and I use that term very loosely — describe a team that won nearly 100 games and made it to the league championship as a “loser”.

They got swept. By Detroit. Outside of the 4-run 9th in game 1, they scored 3 runs in the entire series.

Yeah, these guys have serious issues.

@Francisco (FC) - "Hey don’t forget the Phillies, we’ve been suffering worse than the Yankees! It’s been 4 (FOUR) Years since the last title!"

Would that be the Phillies SECOND title in their 100 year history? HA HA HA HA!!!!
I love Phillies fans acting like their team has become the equivalent of franchises like the Yankees just because they finished in first place for 5 years. Win some titles and then you can boast like Yankee, Cardinals and Dodger fans.

I had to read that entire Waldstein article, but the paragraph that you had quoted made me want to punch my fist through the wall. Is the sky falling and only New York knows about it? Am I supposed to empathize with a team who's won "only" one championship in 12 years, and "only" made it to three other World Series in that same span of time? God forbid the Yankees actually miss the postseason more than a single season in a row!

Until two years ago we were in the country. I agree. In fact, the wife was shocked when our grandson asked (age 4) if he could go mark outside.

The dog and I used to do the nightly rounds and mark our territory as a team. Dogs are much more efficient at it.

Now we moved closer in. One of life's little rituals lost..............

"We don't date losers -- signed, New Yorkers"

Really? With the exception of the Giants, New Yorkers have been dating a lot of "losers" recently.

Only in NY could a "newspaper" -- and I use that term very loosely -- describe a team that won nearly 100 games and made it to the league championship as a "loser". The whole city needs a prozac. Or maybe a hug.

Immediately after reading the last sentence I thought of one of life's true pleasures...
Urinating outside. As a male...this is something I have enjoyed my entire life.
It's one of the reasons we moved to the Country.
Neighbors located sporadically. Surrounded by Woods and Farm ground.
Wildlife, clean air, peace and quiet.
Urinating outside...off the back deck, off the front porch, wherever you please.
One of life's true pleasures. True Story.
